First of all, don’t starve yourself. There are two reasons for this. The first reason is that sooner or later you will ‘break’ and go and stuff your face with a lot of unwanted food. Hunger pains can only be fought off for so long without buckling. The second reason is that going long periods without eating any food slows down your metabolism so that you actually aren’t burning as many calories off as you would if you were eating.
For that reason it’s important to eat some breakfast as this starts the bodies metabolism working after it has been laying dormant through the night. One of the best things to eat is porridge oats and with fully skimmed milk. Porridge oats are a form of complex carbohydrate which means they take longer to break down meaning that they have less chance of turning into fat because they are released slowly and you will also remain full for longer.
Eat less but eat more often. Eating six small meals per day is much better than eating 3 big meals. Your body will burn off the calories more easily plus your metabolic rate will remain active throughout the day. Don’t eat after 7pm at night though if you can help it. Sleeping on a full stomach means that the calories won’t get burned off and will almost certainly turn to fat.
Drinking green tea throughout the day will increase your metabolism and help you lose weight more quickly. Green tea became popular because of the green tea diet although the drink alone won’t make you lose weight automatically. It will however assist you in your goal of losing weight.
Substitute one of your meals with a weight loss shake. As far as quick ways to lose weight go, weight loss shakes are definitely up there. They work by filling you up with very little calories and also providing your body with all the necessary protein and minerals.
If you combine all of the above with gentle lengthy exercise such as long brisk walks or if you are up to it, jogging you will really start to lose weight quick.
