The Texsport Deluxe Camp Shower is The Most Popular Outdoor Shower Enclosure
If you’re going on a camping expedition then an outdoor shower enclosure really is essential, unless of course you are planning on showering in a river! With a decent outdoor shower enclosure you can shower privately and actually get clean which is one of the main problems with camping.
If you get an outdoor camping shower enclosure with a solar heated shower then you can actually enjoy a hot shower! This really is a luxury when you’re out camping in the wilds! Don’t get your hopes up too much though because the shower will usually consist of a solar bag which will heat the water up. The time it takes to heat the water up will depend on the amount of water you put in and the power of the sun where you are. Even on a cloudy day these types of solar bags heat up pretty quickly.
Probably the most popular portable outdoor shower enclosure is the Texsport Deluxe Camp Shower. This really is an excellent option if you plan on showering outdoors no matter whether you are on a camping trip or just in your garden.
The Texsport Deluxe Camp Shower/Shelter Combo will give you a good shower no matter where you are because it includes a solar shower to provide the hot water too!
It’s really easy to set-up but I would recommend that you go through the trial set-up before you actually go camping. It comes with guy ropes which you should definitely use although if you are on flat ground you may be tempted not to. Trust me, the guy ropes make the shower enclosure a lot sturdier. Using the rain cover is also optional but I recommend it because just like the guy ropes it adds to the overall stability.
There is a fitted floor which isn’t necessary if you are showering on grass. If you are on dirt or sand though you will find that it quickly turns to mud so it’s better to use it.
Like I said before the Texsport Deluxe Camp Shower/Shelter Combo includes a solar bag shower. It can take up to 5 gallons of water but with that amount of water it does take quite a while to heat up. You may be better off not filling it right up each time, at least that’s what I found. The strength of the sun where you are will have a big impact on the amount of time it takes to heat the water.
Overall though the water was plenty hot enough for me and enabled me to have a really good shower. The speed of the water was also pretty good considering that it relies solely on gravity for it to work.
Some people have said that the shower enclosure didn’t feel stable but that wasn’t what I found. With the rain cover and guy lines attached it really is stable, even with the solar bag filled up to the 5 gallon max. Make sure you do the trial set-up and when it comes time to use it for real you’ll get it set-up properly.
All in all though the Texsport Deluxe Camp Shower/Shelter Combo is great and I recommend it to anyone. When you are out camping it really feels great to able to actually get so clean and the hot water is nothing less than a god send!
