If the board is dirty with accumulated dust you can take a cotton bud dipped in rubbing alcohol and thoroughly clean it. Before you put everything back together, make sure the buttons and the board are completely dry and free of moisture.

Fortunately, fixing the controller is not really a big deal, because it doesn’t involve messing around with the Microsoft motherboard or adding the thermal compound to the CPU of the gaming console.
